I purchased this cabin a few years ago and completely remodeled it from head to toe.  Everything in this place is new and looking back I think I would have been ahead if I just would have torn the darn thing down and started fresh.  I am a sucker for nostalgia, though, and once I learned from my old timer neighbors that the cabin had been built by two brothers that had recently returned from WWII, I just couldn’t do it.  Back then building materials were scarce, so they scrounged around as best they could for framing materials and the like.  That explains why I found such strange things when I tore out all the walls and ceilings. 

Buried Treasure

In the wall behind the old fireplace was an autographed picture of John Wayne.  I mean, what are the odds of that happening?  I gave this to my future husband, who is the only real cowboy I know. I think deep down inside I realized that although I was giving it away, it was only going to be temporary, that some day I’d get that treasure back and I was right!

Besides being able to tell everyone you own a cabin in Montana?  Lots!  The tax shelter benefit is second to none.  You always have a place to stay in Montana when you visit, and this business pays for itself now.  You will be reaping the benefits for years to come of all my marketing and advertising, as well as my repeat clients that are always happy to return.  Having a Montana address and gaining residency has so many benefits it’s ridiculous.  Take no sales tax and really low hunting licenses, for one.

How is your portfolio looking about now on the stock market?  Real estate is a great place to redirect your savings.  This home sits on just under 1 acre, and it is on a commercially zoned lot with lots of room for additional buildings or even another business.  It is on a corner in the small town of Pine Creek, and has so much potential I even hate to let it go.  Some possible ideas I’ve researched:
